Peats Ridge Festival 2008

Peats Ridge Festival 2008

29 December 2008- 1 January 2009.
The annual Peats Ridge Sustainable Arts & Music Festival kicks off on the 29 December 2008 to 1 January 2009 in a celebration of Music, Arts and Sustainable Living!
This year we have prepared a massive array of entertainment, music and laughter for you including:

  • 8 stages of music featuring over 200 acts.
  • Disco tunes and costumes aplenty, Vic's Disco Tent is the most appropriate place for those spangly platform shoes and late night disco moves.
  • A fully curated performing arts program, from fast and furious short plays, cabaret and artworks to theatre, multi-media and roving performers.
  • The Ecoliving Village will help you live more sustainably with workshops and how-to information.
  • The International Food Fair will be serving mainly organic food from around the globe.
  • The beautiful and inclusive Kids on the Hill Children's Festival set in a shady glen is a magical wonderland of play, puppetry, storytelling and workshops with programs and entertainment for children and teenagers alike.
  • Relax and rejuvenate with massages, meditation and holistic treatments for the mind, body and spirit in the Healing Haven of Bliss.
  • The Darkinjung people welcome us to the Boardi Space. Discover traditional and contemporary Indigenous culture through song, dance and storytelling.  Learn about bush tucker, how to play the didgeridoo or dance the night away to Indigenous DJs.
  • The Chai Temple brings acoustic tunes, yummy organic chai and soft, comfy Indian décor.
  • Workshops to let you try your hand at yoga, twirling, belly dancing, drumming, massage, performance and healing.
  • New Years Eve Masquerade – Fancy dress is de rigueur – make your own mask for the parade in Maskeraiders, our mask making workshop, and don’t forget to bring your fancy, funky costumes.
  • And of course there’s the riverside camping, beautiful swimming holes, bushwalking, horse riding and kayaking all set in the stunning Glenworth Valley.

The Festival runs over 3 days and features established camping facilities set in the stunning natural surroundings of Glenworth Valley. Located just 1 Hour north of Sydney this is a great fun Festival for music lovers of all ages!
The vision behind the Festival is to run a multi-day Arts and Music Festival in a beautiful natural surrounding that is run sustainably and allows people to step out of their everyday life into a world of music, performance, laughter and joy.

The major aim of the Festival is to enable people to access information on living sustainably whilst in a relaxed environment.
